Barcelona will capture all of your senses. It's a beautiful city, with a  combination of modern and gothic architecture. Wander down La Ramblas, a busy street in central Barcelona lined with historic landmarks, merchants and restaurants. From here, stroll over to La Boqueria. An eye popping food market, thought to be one of the best in the world. Flea markets, street performers, musicians and artists keep the streets alive around the clock.

You may find yourself eating later in the day, as dinner starts around 10pm. If you cannot wait to eat until then, try Tapas-small dishes, usually served with drinks-always best shared with friends. In Barcelona, you will find a dizzying array of restaurants serving Tapas, paella, and speciality drinks. Below are some of my favorite dishes...
1. Russian Salad
2. Roast Chicken Dumplings
3. Little Sardines
4. Spanish Omelets
5. Meatballs
My favorite was squid cooked in its own ink, and deep-fried to perfection. Crunchy on the outside and melt in your mouth delicious inside.

In Barcelona, a big breakfast is hard to find. I found the most common dish (similar to what I would eat back home) to be Huevos Rotos (literally means "broken eggs") fried eggs with soft yolks and fried potatoes. Its quite typical to add peppers, onions, ham and cheese to this simple and flavorful dish.
This was a beef sandwich I found often in Barcelona. Tried it twice and never really liked it. I found it to be too chewy and fatty.

La Boqueria is one of Europe’s most famous food markets. With its rich history, delicious selections of fresh produce, and colorful atmosphere-it’s easy to see why everyone loves to shop and eat here.

To find the best panoramic views of the city, walk around Park Guell or take a cable car to Montjuic Castle. Here, you will look upon the expansive landscape of the city, its hills, and the Mediterranean Sea....

Really great photos and excellent commentary on what we also found to be a truly magnificent city. The meandering little narrow medieval streets; the huge plazas which appear suddenly at a random intersection; the plethora of shops and tapas restaurants; five hundred year old churches and apartment buildings... all together these make for a place you could spend a life-time wondering around in and still not see everything.
